A rose by any other name.....

Hi, my name is Rosy Basoa and I am very passionate about baking and cooking.  I am Cuban, raised in the state of New Jersey, and living in Miami.  I would like to dedicate this blog to my grandmother, Mama Rosa. She instilled the cooking bug in me.  I remember being five or six years old, looking up and admiring my grandmother's culinary adventures.  She made a delicious vanilla cake in the pressure cooker, dressed it with vanilla custard, and pulverized it with cinnamon.  Through the years I have tried to replicate Mama Rosa's cake, but have not been successful yet.  I am sure I'll be quoting her at times because she was a very important person in my life.  Not too long ago, she passed at the tender age of 102.

I treasure my mixed  culture, it makes me who I am.  I am married with children and grandchildren.  Of course, I am not too old!  This thing is just getting started and I invite you to join me as I embark in the world of blogging.

I am the one on the left.

I'm pretty sure my mom's baking is the only reason my friends come around!
